Please learn any lines and song words that you have been given for our show as rehearsals will begin straight after the half term break.
We will also be learning about Costa Rica to mark the start of the World Cup so any information you can find out before then would be good too!
In maths we are learning about money and having good financial sense. Tonight, the children need to find the actual prices of:
A pint of milk
A loaf of bread
A small pack of nappies
A box of cornflakes
(Supermarket own brands)
They could compare prices between brands and supermarkets if they want to.
In English, the children have begun researching a woodland animal and can continue to tonight to bring in tomorrow when they will be using their findings to write a non-chronological report. It is important that they find out as much as possible: what it looks like, what it eats, what it does and anything else that will make their writing stand out (e.g. Threats of hunting or extinction).
After working so hard for SATS, the children were very happy to receive their hoodies.
Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous Vitruvian Man is a drawing of what he believed the perfect human form to be. We tested his ideas in class:
Today we have been looking at trees and leaves. We went to the park and sketched the leaves and trees. When we got back to school we sorted them and made diagrams of the leaves.
The class have been revising really hard for their SATs next week. Today we recapped all angles facts in groups and worked in pairs to solve some reasoning problems.
This afternoon we worked in groups to develop our coding skills using Hour of Code on code.org.uk
Today in science, we learnt about how and why we classify items. Miss Gendoo modelled a classification key on the board using children in the class then we had a go using sweets.
The children have been given some SPAG and some maths homework to complete. I have also reminded them to learn their Easter spellings for tomorrow.
Such a positive end to the term – our class came top of the school Accelerated Reader board this week. Good work!
Here are our star readers this term for meeting/exceeding their AR targets and others who have received Values awards, Superhero awards, and Housepoint awards.
One very proud teacher!
